The estimated cost of the Tax Cut Deal the Republicans and Obama administration put together = $763 Billion US dollars over the next 2 years.*
PayGo is obviously out the window. More indebtedness to China, which gives us less leverage on trade issues with same.
Hypocrite list in order of greatest hypocrisy and reasons for being listed:
1) Republicans (House and Senate) payback to major Republican contributors, follow the money while pretending to be fiscally responsible.
2) Tea Party - where is the outrage now? The cost of this compromise is as great as all the other things this group was protesting, where are they?
3) Sarah Palin - not a peep from the constitutional thumper Pay your way Palin - government not overreaching enough?
4) Barack Obama - this is his George Bush "read my lips" campaign cross to bear. Of all the talk about how resilient and resourceful Americans are, he is showing little faith in them to help him win the fight for the correct course of action. He did not even go to the public and ask them to help him with this fight.
5) Democrats (House and Senate) if they do not filibuster and/or go along with this nonsense compromise

1) The American voter - if they go silent and don't call their congressmen and senator to let them know how wrong this compromise is and stop it dead in its tracks, your children, and theirs will suffer under this debt and lowering of our standard of living.

Suggested Action - GO VIRAL (I would use ROGUE, but it seems to have been used by someone on the hypocrite list)
1) Copy Paste this and email to 5 or more of your family members and friends and ask them to do the same
2) Contact your 2 Senators and your House Congressional Representatives ( if you do not know who they are, no problem, use the link below to Congress.org, enter your zip code )
3) Let your representatives know how you feel about going deeper in debt to China to give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires by either calling them and/or emailing them thru Congress.org (register to use their email service). Also call the White House contact line and let the President know how you feel about kicking the can down the road and borrowing money for our children to pay back.
4) Additional spending stimulus should be paid for by cutting something in the budget (PayGo rules endorsed by Democrats and Obama) which was all the Republicans were saying on the extension of the unemployment benefits. Also extension of unemployment benefits are not a bargaining chip for Republican Congressional "leadership" to use to get what it wants.
5) Suggested plan: extend Bush tax cuts for all permanently up to the inflation adjusted level of 307,750 (307,750 = 2.65% inflation adjusted amount of the Bush cutoff base of 250k from 1/1/03). A compromise would temporarily raise this amount to just under $1 million based on the economic conditions not to exceed 2 years.
Continuation of Obama tax cuts from 2009 for the middle class, (child care credit, making work pay, enhanced tuition credit etc.) with the realization that these may need to be subject to PayGo rules.
PayGo for everything else:
If Republicans want to temporarily extend the Bush tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires they have to pay for it by cutting something in the budget.
If Democrats want to extend unemployment insurance for another year they need to pay for that by cutting something in the budget.
